Hi there, my name is Chelsea! I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Houston- Clear Lake. I have many years of experience in education and childhood development. After my undergraduate internship at Texas Children's Autism Center, I gained an appreciation for the autism community and found the value of social skills training. My internship experience involved leading and teaching social skills groups of all ages, diverse needs and abilities. I have since continued teaching social skills to children as well as young adults. I love my work and greatly enjoy getting to know my students and their families!
Brandi brings to Incuentro over 17 years’ education experience specializing in autism and behavior analysis. She holds a BA in English/Writing, MEd in Special Education and is a Licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She began her career as a special education teacher in a public school classroom for middle school and high school students with moderate to severe disabilities. During this time, she found her passion for working with students with autism and quickly realized the benefits of using behavioral strategies to teach academic, life, and vocational skills. In 2014, Brandi began working as a district autism specialist and developed Hudson ISDs autism program. She spent many hours training administrators, teachers, and parents; developing behavior programs for students; leading educational planning meetings; writing behavior plans; and performing functional behavior assessments. She has also worked for one of the nation's largest school districts as a Program Specialist BCBA for over 280 campuses. She is currently the Education Director of a successful nonprofit where she coordinates their after school social skills program. She uses her love for writing while creating lessons and trainings. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, riding horses and yoga.
